There are tones and sounds in this one… I’d love to be able to play like this.

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of music from my past, when I was into blues a lot. I rediscovered this song by The Allman Brothers which I sang in a band for some time, but strangely entirely forgot over the years.
It’s a weird feeling hearing that again and thinking about the times I sung that. And feeling the gap between me and the guy I was.

Ha, those were the days back in the 80s. Bad drum samples and processed guitars. Well, I guess it’s the same now, only the producers got better computers.
Still… this rocks! Compared to the other crap the eighties left us.

I’m not that much of a Jethro Tull fan, but in their first bluesy incarnation they wrote some really great songs.
Just watch this great performance, I’ve never seen a bass player playing bluesharp; also, that’s mr Tony Iommi on guitar!

I realize there aren’t that much new songs on this here site. That’s gonna stay like that for a while, because I think there isn’t much really good material made nowadays.
ZZ Top, the best little blues band from Texas, made some really tasty blues records in the early 1970s. Later on they lost it a bit by having too much electronics added.

Gerry Rafferty and his friends… you can clearly hear him contributing to this song. I know this one all my life. Love it.

And I hate it that most of the people know this because of the movie Reservoir Dogs. I once accidentally stumbled upon it while watching TV, saw a few seconds of it and saw more gruesome deaths than I had seen in a long time. Shortly afterwards my TV broke down and I never replaced it.

Now I got a TV again because my wife had one. But I’ll never, ever, watch any movie by Quentin Tarantino again.

One of the tunes that made me pick up the guitar, and one of the first songs I ever played together with others. Stevie Ray Vaughn was one of the greats, and it’s sad he had to leave so early.
I still can’t play this song…
