61 - Beck - Loser

Well, what is there to say about this song. It catapulted Beck into stardom and launched a new generation of lo-fi eclectic music styles. Wonderful weird Beck lyrics here, like the opening “in the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey”, “kill the headlights and put it in neutral” (which got a great rhythm over it) and “forces of evil in a bozo nightmare”.
Everytime I hear it I say to myself: and here I am wondering what to write songs about…
I like the difference in style between the live 1996 version and the 2000 version. Also watch how much the bass player’s hair has grown!
