40 - Bluesbreakers With Eric Clapton - Ramblin' on my mind

Ramblin’ on my mind was one of the first blues songs I learned to play. I guess it came right after House of the rising sun. My cousin hooked me up to this one, through the Crossroads box set. I learned play the guitar with the songs on that album. It was only years later that I discovered the Bluesbreakers album.

Today I saw the ‘beano’ album (called thusly after the cover, where Clapton reads a Beano comic) for 7 euros at the local record store; a special edition featuring the mono mix of 1966 and the stereo one from 1969. Man, that mono version ROCKS! Don’t know what it is about it, but it is a lot grittier and direct than the stereo version.

Youtube - nowadays Clapton mellowed down a whole lot.
